Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: Three Tips to get Your own Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt

I have two theories about the saying, “Money can’t buy happiness”. First of which, the person who coined it probably didn’t know where to shop. And the second, whatever he/she wanted to buy was sold out.

How do you buy something that’s almost constantly sold out? I for one have never let those two terrifying words get in my way of snagging a ‘must-have’ item. In this case, the most covetable sweatshirt seen on countless models and fashion insiders–the Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt. I know I’m a little late to the party, but who cares! Success is finally laying hands on my very own sweatshirt in a lovely shade of deep violet, from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection. This makes me dizzy with happiness because purple is my absolutely favorite color. I also love how the garish, mismatch of colors defining the tiger head emphasizes the contrast against the darker background.

Buy into the sport luxe trend and pair the Kenzo Tiger Sweatshirt with loose silk track pants and some awesome kicks. Check out Giuseppe Zanotti’s Croc Embossed Metal-Strap Sneaker Wedge in white, available via Neiman Marcus.

Can’t wait to get your paws on one of these sweatshirts? Here’s how in varying degrees of difficulty:

  • Easy: Head down to the Kenzo Boutique at Ngee Ann City to purchase one. They’ve just brought in the Spring/Summer 2014 collection in limited pieces, so if you’re lucky there should still be stock available. On the downside, it costs twice the amount of money you would pay for the same sweatshirt purchased directly from the official Kenzo E-shop (it costs €195, about SGD340). Yep, profits need to be made.
  • Medium: Bookmark and stalk reputable online retailers stocking the sweatshirt. Some of my favorites are Matches (most excellent customer service!), Barneys, Net-A-Porter and FarFetch. If it’s currently unavailable in your preferred color/size, add it to your wishlist and you’ll be notified once available.
  • Difficult: If you’re fortunate enough to have friends and family residing in Europe, you could order one from the Kenzo E-shop and have it delivered to their address. They can then ship it to you (assuming you live in a country with no Kenzo boutiques at all. Do note that Kenzo only delivers to  the following countries – France, Monaco, Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus (EU), Romania, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Malta, Denmark, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Croatia.

If spending more than SGD300 on a sweatshirt gives you a severe case of hives, get the look for less with these inspired sweatshirts from Cotton On at just SGD34.95. You get a choice of all four colors black, gray, red or green at Cotton On’s brick and mortar shops, with their online store only offering red or green.
