Lazada Launches LZD

If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve finally completed my move from Blogger to self-hosted WordPress. A feat I’m very proud of. Hope you’re liking the new site! Let me know if you come across any bugs.

In other news, aside from an obvious penchant for alliteration in post titles, I was stoked to be given the opportunity to attend a Lazada Fashion event last Wednesday. Why was this so exciting? Well, firstly it’s fashion–and I’m always interested in fashion. Secondly, I think they’re doing a huge favor to the shopaholics in Southeast Asia. You know me, I’m always complaining about how boring the shopping situation in Singapore is, and no matter where I go I can never find anything in brick-and-mortar shops to buy. That’s why I’ve always turned to online shopping retailers instead (ASOS anyone?!), you can’t blame a girl who’s gotta get her shopping fix…

Which is why I couldn’t be happier we’ll have some fresh style hitting our shores. I’m talking UK brands–Bellfield, Motel Rocks, Your Eyes Lie, and Religion. Joining the party to get you festival ready is American fashion giant Urban Outfitter’s boho arm–Free People. If that’s not enough, Lazada will be going a step further to launch their own in-house label, LZD. Created with the Southeast Asian consumer in mind, the LZD label is tailored (no pun intended!) to fit the petite Asian body type with the latest styles while retaining sense cents (keeping things affordable) and sensibility (tropical weather 24/7/365). Rest assured whatever your style is, Lazada has something for everyone.

During the event, the other fashion bloggers and I got to meet and speak with Anne-Marie Bodal, Fashion Creative Director at Lazada Group. There’s nothing I enjoy more than meeting the brains and inspiration at the top, and I must say Anne-Marie is one of the most interesting personalities I’ve ever met. We were broken into smaller groups for a personal styling session by Anne-Marie and the very glamorous Noah Naima, Senior Fashion Stylist at Lazada Group.

I’m always at a loss when it comes to putting a label on my style because I think I’m not loyal to any particular style–I prefer to keep it eclectic. I was drawn to this white muscle tank with a pocket, which Ann-Marie matched with shiny denim and even shinier sneaker wedges. I put my own spin on the look but knotting the muscle tank to show off a little mid-riff, and cuffing the denim so they wouldn’t steal the thunder from my shoes. While it’s not exactly the most outrageous, this look would be something I’d pull out from my wardrobe and wear. I can’t deny I love dressing comfortable, and indulging my inner-tomboy.

It was really exciting watching each blogger going in the changing room and emerging in their new outfits, I think we definitely rocked each and every look! It was great meeting like-minded people, and chatting with influencers in the fashion industry. Thanks so much Lazada Singapore for invite, looking forward to more collaborations in the future!

P.S.: If you’re wondering where to get the amazing looks we’re wearing, click here. You can thank me later.
